Frequently Asked Questions

  • When will my balloon delivery arrive? Do you do timed delivery?
    • You choose a delivery date! If you choose Guaranteed delivery, your balloon gift is guaranteed by Royal Mail to arrive before 1pm on a day of your choice. If you have chosen First Class your Balloon in a Box will be delivered on the day although Royal Mail does not absolutely guarantee it (success rates are around 95%). If you have chosen Standard Delivery your Helium Balloon will be sent 3-4 working days before your desired delivery date.
  • I made an error when I ordered my Delivery Balloon, can I change the delivery name, address, message etc?
    • If we haven’t already sent your Balloon in a Box this should not be a problem. Please call our customer services on 0845 486 0055 or use our Contact Us page and we will amend your order.
  • Incredibly I have had a last minute mind switch and no longer want to make someone really happy by sending them a fabulous Balloon Delivery, I’m a big meany but can I cancel my order?
    • If we haven’t already sent your order we will be able to cancel your order. Please ring our customer service line in our office hours on 0845 486 0055 and after making you feel guilty we will happily refund your money minus a 15 % administration fee.
  • I love the balloons on the website but I can’t find one that is perfect! Do Delivery Balloon deliver any other balloons than those shown on the website?
    • Delivery Balloon can normally only deliver the balloons shown on our website. However, if you have a specific request we will do our best to accommodate you. Suggestions are welcome too!
  • Can I include other items with my balloon delivery such as a toy or chocolates?
    • When you buy your balloon in a box you will have an option to add further items to customise your gift.
  • How long do the balloons stay afloat for?
    • Your balloon will float for at least two weeks usually, often for a lot longer. Very warm rooms will tend to make the balloon deflate at a faster rate.
  • How are the balloons delivered?
    • All our balloons are delivered by Royal Mail or UPS. Your balloon gift will be presented in a box, the size of which depends on your choice of balloon! See our What’s in the Box? section for more details.
  • If the balloon is filled with helium, won’t it float away?
    • We fill our balloons with Helium to ensure a spectacular effect when the box is opened. The balloon or bouquet is attached to a funky balloon weight (the size, style and shape depending on the balloon you have chosen) which anchors it to the floor and prevents tears before bed time!
  • Are the balloons inflated?
    • All our balloons are inflated with helium so they float upwards. We only use balloons from the best manufacturers to ensure a long floating time.
  • Does Delivery Balloon deliver on a Sunday or bank holidays?
    • Sadly not. We can deliver beforehand though and we can put an ‘only open on’ date on the box to delay the surprise until the right moment! If you wish us to do this, please contact us after checking out.
  • Can the balloon delivery be sent to a non-residential address e.g. hotels or businesses?
    • Absolutely. We deliver anywhere the postman does! Receiving a balloon delivery at work is especially exciting as it gives the receiver of the balloon a chance to skive for half an hour while he or she shows off their magnificent prize.
  • How much do the delivery balloons cost?
    • Our delivery balloons start from £9.95. This includes standard postage and a fully decorated balloon!
  • Can Delivery Balloon deliver on the same day?
    • We do not currently offer this service, although we are looking at providing it in the future.
  • I want to order online but I’m worried about security.
    • Our site is completely secure. We do not store your details. Personal details are never shared with third parties.
  • I’ve sent a balloon gift but what will happen if the person to whom I’ve sent my order isn’t there to receive their balloon delivery?
    • If your balloon recipient isn’t present at the delivery address; Royal Mail will post a card informing the absentee personage of the failed delivery. Your friend will then be able to re-arrange delivery or pick the balloon up at the nearest Post Office. Royal Mail will not leave a Special Delivery parcel without a signature.
  • What do you sell?
    • Balloons! Big ones, small ones, balloon bouquets, balloons in boxes, balloon gifts and just plain balloons.
  • How can I contact you?
    • Telephone us on 0845 486 0055 between 9:00 and 5:00 Monday - Friday (we have an answer-phone outside of these hours which we DO use!) or use our Contact Us page. You can always place an order online outside these hours.
  • How much does it cost to ring you?
    • Our 0845 number means that you will be ringing local rate (maximum 3p a minute) from anywhere in the UK!
  • Can I order by telephone?
    • Yes, telephone us on 0845 486 0055.
  • What are your delivery costs?
    • Our standard delivery is included FREE in the price of your balloon in a box. When you are checking out you will be offered further options which, if you choose them result in additional delivery costs. See our Delivery page for further information.
  • What payment methods do you accept?
    • We accept nearly anything except buttons; Visa, Master-card, Switch, Solo, Delta, Visa Electron and Amex. If sending a cheque it must clear (which may take up to 5 working days) before your balloon booked, packed and dispatched.
  • How do I know my Balloon in a Box will arrive on the correct date?
    • You can state on your order when you wish the balloon to arrive. If the balloon is sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery; this will be guaranteed to arrive before 1pm on the required date. First Class delivery is not guaranteed to arrive the next day but almost certainly will. Standard delivery takes up to three working days usually but again this is not guaranteed.
  • What time do you need my order for next day delivery of my Balloon Bouquet or Balloons Delivery?
    • You will be asked to put in a delivery date when you order your balloons. The latest time we can accept orders is 4.00pm, on the day before the delivery date. N.B. Royal Mail does NOT guarantee a Saturday delivery although nearly all will arrive. No postal deliveries on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
